科技史研究前沿讲座

本讲座围绕科学史研究这一中心，以跨学科研究视角与研究方法为组织方式，选择近年来新兴的研究领域与专题，安排相关学科的资深学者以其具创新性的研究案例作为示范，帮助同学们迅速了解科技史研究的动态与最新进展，掌握阅读文献和评鉴文献的能力，为硕士生和博士生寻找学位论文研究方向、探索新的学术问题提供启发，激励同学们敢于站在前人学术思想与研究成果的高峰上独立思考问题。

本讲摘要

Over the last twenty years, new communications technologies have reshaped the media and society in countries around the world. Yet this revolution is not unique to the present. Interlocking technological, informational, and political revolutions have occurred many times in the past, in many cultures. My work aims to examine how one society, China, underwent such a shift over a fifty year period from 1919 to 1976. In so doing, I work toward building a theory of modern technopolitics with broader methodological implications. In particular, this lecture will focus on the last ten years of China’s longue durée news revolution, attempting to answer a question as relevant to our own time as theirs. In a society saturated with information, what happens when anyone can take control of the news?

主讲人

John N. Alekna（雷震）

北京大学助理教授，美国普林斯顿大学博士，英国牛津大学硕士。

目前研究方向为东亚交通技术史，特别是无线电广播与大众媒体史。同时也在研究清朝末年科学史，特别是数学、地理知识的传播。他正在修正其首部专书《近代中国的广播与技术政治，1923-1960》。
