Recently, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security of the People's Republic of China and the National Postdoctoral Management Committee officially issued the 'Notice on the Approval of the Establishment of 510 Postdoctoral Research Stations in Philosophy and Other Disciplines at Northeast Normal University' (MOHRSS Letter [2023] No. 108). Among these, Peking University's application for the establishment of a Science and Technology History Postdoctoral Research Station has been approved.
The establishment of the Science and Technology History Postdoctoral Research Station owes its success to the strong support from internal functional departments such as the Postdoctoral Office. Multiple relevant departments like the School of Medicine and Humanities, Philosophy, Physics, Chemistry, among others, collaborated extensively, fully integrating resources within Peking University. This initiative reflects the duty of the Science and Technology History discipline to promote interdisciplinary exchanges and dialogues.
The successful establishment of the Science and Technology History Postdoctoral Research Station further enhances the talent cultivation system in the field of Science and Technology History at Peking University, providing new opportunities for its significant development. Moving forward, our department will actively explore further strengthening the construction of postdoctoral research stations, effectively leveraging their advantages and roles in constructing high-level disciplines, nurturing high-level talents, and producing outstanding academic achievements. This effort aims to enhance the social service capabilities and international influence of the Science and Technology History discipline at Peking University.
